About This Site
Hi, I’m an eBay Powerseller, and I feature cookbooks in my eBay store. I also buy a lot of cookbooks on eBay, too. I created this website because although I really enjoy bidding on and buying cookbooks on eBay, the process of searching for them can be tedious - as I type, there are over 14,000 cookbooks listed for sale on eBay, and that doesn’t even include sellers’ store inventory listings. eBay’s cookbook categories are really broad, and unless you are a really experienced, expert searcher, you may not be finding all the results for what you’re looking for. Even as an experienced eBay searcher, I was tired of having to type in long complicated search phrases into the eBay search engine, I could never remember where I could find and edit the saved searches, and the search results were constantly filling up my email account.
That’s why I created the main page of this website, cookbookauctions.com. It is designed so even someone completely new to eBay, who has no idea how to create a good search, can use it to drill down and find a very specific author or a category of cookbooks with just a few clicks on the links. I’ve also designed the searches so even if the seller misspells Lidia Bastianich’s name or abbreviates a cookbook title, it should still show up in the proper category(ies). I showed my new website to a few friends at work, who liked it so much, they wanted to use it, too, and they’ve requested a number of additional categories I’ll be adding, if there’s something you’d like me to add, just let me know. (Please note, I’ve just started setting up the main page, its nowhere near finished, but its operational, try it out, let me know how you like it, what you think I should add to the site.)
This blog was set up to provide information and tips to eBay beginners so they can feel comfortable using eBay, checking out eBay sellers, knowing what information to look for in an auction listing, what else they should ask before bidding or buying, the best times of the year to buy cookbooks to get a good deal, bidding strategies, all about shipping, really, whatever you need to know. Equally importantly, it was set up so anyone who visits this site could ask any questions they wanted to about eBay or buying cookbooks on eBay, or make suggestions about revisions to the main page, cookbookauctions.com. Please feel free to click on the “comment” link underneath any blog entry to let me know what you have questions about or would like to see on the main page.
